Russia warned the US and its allies against a violent scenario of resolving the Venezuelan crisis. This was stated by the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Ryabkov. He underlined that the use of force will cause a "catastrophic scenario."
“Moscow seriously warns the West against adventurous plans for a scenario of force,” - words of diplomat in RIA Novosti.
Ryabkov also said that Russia was counting on joining the work of the contact group on Venezuela, but the proposal was rejected.
The US authorities have repeatedly hinted at the possibility of sending a military contingent to the Bolivarian Republic. In turn, the legitimate president of the country, Nicolas Maduro, said that Venezuelans will defend their homeland with weapons in arms.
Earlier, Channel Five reported that a large batch of American weapons had been intercepted in Venezuela. There were automatic rifles, ammunition, equipment, radio antennas and telephones.
